TRUE IDENTITY IN CHRIST (2)

(Message by Tanny Keng)

0. Introduction

a) What is our true identity in Christ?

1. We are one in Christ with all our believers (Galatians 3:28).

i) 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28 NKJV)

2. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

i) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3 NKJV)

3. We are holy, blameless, and covered with God's love (Ephesians 1:4).

i) 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.  (Ephesians 1:4 NKJV)

4. We are adopted as God's children (Ephesians 1:5-6).

i) 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. (Ephesians 1:5-6 NKJV)

5. Our sins are taken away, and we are forgiven (Ephesians 1:7).

i) 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:7 NKJV)

6. We will be brought under Christ's headship (Ephesians 1:10-11).

i) 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will. (Ephesians 1:10-11 NKJV)

7. We are marked as belonging to God by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13).

i) 13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. (Ephesians 1:13 NKJV)

8. We have been raised up to sit with Christ in glory (Ephesians 2:6).

i) 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:6 NKJV)
