THE SEASON FOR 2014

0. Introduction

a) 2013 has just passed away and everyone is happily ushering with celebration for the coming new year 2014. Some believe that 2014 will bring good tidings while others may not be so hopeful. Whatever our state of mind may be, the fact remains that we still have a new whole year for God to work wonders in our lives because God is a God of miracles. In this context, we can expect 2014 to be a great, wonderful and challenging year with many wonderful possibilities ahead.

b) Many of us may wonder what 2014 may bring. May I encourage you to just remember 3 key prophetic words for 2014: "The Season, Double Portion, and Pleasant Surprises."

1. The Season for 2014

a) To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV)

b) The earth has four seasons: winter, spring, summer, fall (autumn).

 2. Double Portion

a) The right of the firstborn to inherit a customary double portion

i) 15 “If a man has two wives, one loved and the other unloved, and they have borne him children, both the loved and the unloved, and if the firstborn son is of her who is unloved, 16 then it shall be, on the day he bequeaths his possessions to his sons, that he must not bestow firstborn status on the son of the loved wife in preference to the son of the unloved, the true firstborn. 17 But he shall acknowledge the son of the unloved wife as the firstborn by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his. (Deuteronomy 21:15-17 NKJV)

b) Elisha asks for a double portion of Elijah's spirit (or prophetic anointing)

i) And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” (2 Kings 2:9 NKJV)

c) Job receives even greater blessings than he had before (a double portion)

i) 12 Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys. 13 He also had seven sons and three daughters. 14 And he called the name of the first Jemimah, the name of the second Keziah, and the name of the third Keren-Happuch. 15 In all the land were found no women so beautiful as the daughters of Job; and their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers. 16 After this Job lived one hundred and forty years, and saw his children and grandchildren for four generations. (Job 42:12-16 NKJV)

ii) Before he had (the beginning days): "There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. And seven sons and three daughters were born to him. Also, his possessions were seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred female donkeys, and a very large household, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the East." (Job 1:1-3 NKJV)

3. Pleasant Surprises

a) Sometime back this month December 2013, the Lord showed me number 15 and our family cell set aside 15th December 2013 (Sunday) @9.00pm for a special family reunion. The initial intention for that day was to eat and have fellowship without the slightest thought of having any sharing. So, we planned to have porridge meal with add-ins such as salted eggs, century eggs, black beans fish, lettuce, etc.

b) On 15th December 2013 (Sunday), we had our porridge meal and everyone was enjoying the meal. Soon after the meal, we gathered to sing a few Chinese songs. In the midst of it, I was praying and the Lord reminded me about 2 numbers that were clearly shown to me earlier. In one instance a vision, number 4 was vividly written out and another number 8 (I couldn't make any sense out of it at the point of time).
c) After much thought in prayer, numbers 4 and 8 represent 12 (4+8). There are 12 months in a year and 4 seasons in a year too. What is the Lord trying to say?

"There are 16 more days (after 15th December 2013) before the beginning of a new year 2014. The 12 months in a year represent next year 2014 and 4 seasons represent 4 "pleasant surprises," with 3-month period for each season in time next year. Also, in each surprise, which the Lord has a personal interest in it, will come in 4 times effect (a double double portion)."

d) The "surprise" may come in the form of supernatural provision, signs and wonders, unexpected or extraordinary miracles etc.
e) God is a God of order, pattern and design. He will do what he has already purposed to do.
