NUMBER SIX (6-6)

(Message by Tanny Keng)

0. Introduction

a) The number 6 symbolizes man and human weakness, the evils of Satan and the manifestation of sin. Man was created on the sixth day. Men are appointed 6 days to labor. A Hebrew slave was to serve 6 years and be released in the 7th year. Six years were appointed for the land to be sown and harvested. The number 6 is associated with Satan in his temptation of Jesus. It is interesting to note what other mention(s) for 6 can be found in the Bible.

1. What were the 6 times Jesus was accused of having a DEVIL?

a) Mark 3:22, and Matthew 12:24, "He hath Beelzebub."

b) John 7:20, "Thou hast a devil."

c) John 8:48, "Say we not well that . . . Thou hast a devil?"

d) John 8:52, "Now we know that Thou hast a devil."

e) John 10:20, "He hath a devil, and is mad."

f) Luke 11:15, "He casteth out devils by Beelzebub."

g) This is most significant. Man's enmity to the Person of the Lord Jesus is thus branded with man's number 6.
