2. Gomer

a) Gomer was the prostitute who became the wife of Hosea the prophet. She had three children. God told Hosea to take a harlot wife, so he took Gomer (Hosea 1). Gomer left Hosea, but at God's command, Hosea brought her back. Gomer's unfaithfulness and Hosea's forgiveness symbolized God's forgiving love for unfaithful Israel.
