JUDGMENTS: "YOU HAVE THE WORDS OF ETERNAL LIFE"

(Message by Tanny Keng)

1. Judgments

a) People are always making judgments. You do it, I do it, we all do it. Good judgment is one of the qualities of successful people. Jesus warned against making false or hypocritical judgments. He encouraged people to "judge righteous judgment" (John 7:24).

b) Jesus himself was being judged by people, and needless to say their judgments were varied. In the Gospel of John you can find several judgments of Jesus. It was even said, “He has a demon”!

2. "You Have The Words Of Eternal Life"

John 6:67-68
67 So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” 68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

a) We turn to the judgments of those who were believers. The disciple Peter judged Jesus to be the only source of eternal life. When Jesus asked the twelve disciples if they were going to desert him like other disciples were doing, Peter said,"Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life" (John 6:68). This was the same judgment of Jesus that Jesus made of himself: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).
