PLACES IN ACTS: DAMASCUS

(Message by Tanny Keng)

1. Places In Acts

a) We look at the places mentioned in Acts. Each place is located on a map and then we note the people and events associated with that place. Each place contains some information mentioned in the book of Acts.

2. Damascus

i) Pronounced Duh-mass'-kus.

ii) A major city in the southern part of Syria.

iii) Probably the oldest, continually inhabited city in the world.

iv) The cloth called damask gets its name from Damascus, where that cloth was made.

v) This beautiful city was Saul’s destination on his way to persecute Christians.

vi) Along the way to Damascus, Saul was struck by the light and voice of the Lord Jesus, and this encounter led to Saul’s conversion. He became the apostle Paul (Acts 9:1-31).
