LIFE IN THE BEGINNING (1)

(Message by Tanny Keng)

1. Life

a) In the Old Testament of the Bible it says “then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature” (Genesis 2:7). It also tells us that “… the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls, for it is the blood that makes atonement by the life” (Leviticus 17:11).

b) Medical science tells us that when the brain waves stop the human body is dead. However, when a person drowns and stops breathing, what is it that revives them through resuscitation? It is the return of oxygen to the brain … oxygen that is carried to the brain in the blood.

c) In the New Testament we read that without the shedding of blood by our Savior, Jesus, we could not have eternal life. (Matthew 26:28; Hebrews 9:22). Jesus’ blood is our life – the atonement for our soul.

2. Life In The Beginning

Genesis 1:20
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.

Genesis 2:9
And out of the ground the LORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 3:14
The LORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, cursed are you above all livestock and above all beasts of the field; on your belly you shall go, and dust you shall eat all the days of your life.
